Who would of thought I'd love writing a paper so much?

Soooo.. normally I leave papers I have to write til the last second. But it's the end of the semester and I thought I'd let myself not stress out as much and get it done a few days early. Well I have absolutely fallen in love with writing this paper. I'll explain! Its a Career Assessment paper and I chose to write it on Photojournalism. I have some across the sickest shit. NOT even exaggerating. I have been contacting the sites I visit and have been getting myself overly excited because I ABSOLUTELY know this is what i want to do with my life. I LOVE photography and the idea of practicing it as a journalist and being able to enhance stories through my pictures makes my heart race.

Who would of thought I'd be so excited about this? Granted my paper is still not done because I'm getting distracted by everything I find. The upside is that I'm actually learning something instead of stalking facebook to pass the time. I interviewed a freelance photojournalist named David Burnett who was so nice to get back to me and I got some great information from him. Also his pictures are awesome.. so if anyone is actually reading this.. take a peek its really cool. Also I haven't been able to get off The Village Voice site for the past 45 minutes. (thevillagevoice.com) Its literally so awesome and so many of the articles are really funny. It seems to be very hip and laid back. That is the exact kind of place I would love to look for. I could imagine that being a job I would love. AHH just me daydreaming. But seriously look at their site its sick! I did e-mail the art director and I'd be cool if I got a response but I feel like with that sort of thing I will most likely not get something back. I just sounded like an awkward little girl looking for an internship, haha. I might try calling their one day next week and finding someone I can send my portfolio to. Hmmm you never know til you try.

I'm learning to think outside the box and be optimistic because you never know what you may come across. Making connections with indiviuals is KEY as well as rewarding. I find it comforting to discuss photography in any form to those who are professionals because maybe one day I will be in their shoes... I HOPE!

Okay I'm done blabbering.. gotta get back to this paper... 20% of my grade.
